For one of my graduation projects at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam together with my companion Stefan Nauert, I created a TV-show, for which we invited different guests from various art periods. We wanted to play around in an ironic way with the eternal (and probably pointless) discussion about what’s art and what’s not, or what’s good art and what’s bad art.
Six people were impersonating characters from Andy Warhol to Zara Hadid. A selection of influencing artists from the past, gallery owners, art collectors, art historians and art critics were invited to take part in our round and discuss about subjects like the “Vandalism In Art”, “Hijacking”, the first “Armory Show” or “The Readymades”. The dialogues were made up, using original quotes from the respective figures, which were edited into dynamic discussions.
