The Sport and Dance Club SLAVIJA from East-Sarajevo asked me to design T-shirts for them, which was a bit of a challenge. On one hand, I didn’t want to create generic sports club shirts, on the other hand, I wanted to fulfil my own sometimes questionable typography preferences. My idea was to design T-shirts that didn’t scream “sports club,” but rather gave off a cool, casually purchased vibe. I wanted them to feel good wearing the shirts, without it being obvious that they were just club wear. Also, I definitely wanted to pay homage to the traditional costumes of the Sarajevo Field region (Sarajevsko Polje), famous for its unique patterns and geometrical and floral design. Phew! Wasn’t easy at all. But I’m super happy with the final result. I probably use the type for further projects.
