In November 2021 the citizens’ council of the city of Görlitz (Germany) gave me an advertising column, that hasn’t been used for a while, so I can put my own posters. But before I could start, first I had to remove a thick and moldy layer of old posters. (If you want to see the redesign of the advertising column, click here.) While peeling off I noticed that the posters had not been removed for decades: concert posters from the 90s, old election posters, cheesy cigarette ads, etc. What a weird journey through the past. Well, then I thought maybe I would even find posters from East Germany’s socialist era. Quickly I found out that I was right! There were layers of old posters, dating back to the early 80s! I stopped tearing the posters off, cut carefully and removed from the column hoping I could preserve some of them.I hope I can separate them from each other. Right now I have no idea what to do with that pile of paper.
